The Mahtomedi Early Childhood Parent Advisory Council assists in advising us in the development and planning of the programming we offer through Early Childhood. The Parent Advisory Council consists of caregivers currently participating in the program, local community members, and agency representatives who can offer input and guidance on community needs. What does the Parent Advisory Council do? Recommend activities, classes, and service for families with young children Be a springboard for family involvement in the district Sponsor family activities such as: Open Gym, Field Trips, Vehicle Fair, and much more! Raise funds to support program activities Why should I join the Parent Advisory Council? Parent involvement is key to a child’s educational success Expand your network of families with young children Be involved in decisions about the early childhood program Learn about the district What else do I need to know about the Parent Advisory Council? Free childcare is available for those who sign up. You can attend an occasional meeting or every month. If a parent/caregiver attends 2 PAC meetings a year and volunteers to help at 1 sponsored event they will receive one of the following: Free registration for the following school year’s preschool $50 off your ECFE tuition for the current school year One free Early Childhood Enrichment one time class (meeting only one day, not consecutive days)
