History with Kathy Simmer: “We’re Going Down! Shipwrecks on the Great Lakes"

There have been over 6,000 shipwrecks on the Great Lakes costing 30,000 lives. We explore causes of shipwrecks in general and focus on some of the most interesting, particularly the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Learn of sailors’ superstitions, their life on board and what they do when their vessel is badly damaged and in danger of going down. 

Registration deadline: April 12th at 3pm and April 13th at 3pm

Kathleen Simmer


Kathy Simmer taught in the St. Paul Public School District and was always very interested in historical research. Kathy presents about American history topics for various organizations. She likes to include the details that are often left out of the history books. All of her portion of the class fee is donated to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research.
