    Private Guitar and/or Piano Lessons 2023-24

    Thank you for your interest in private music lessons with Mahtomedi Community Education! *IF THERE IS A WAITLIST, REGISTER AT NO COST. WE WILL FOLLOW UP! We offer weekly lessons for youth and adults of all levels and interests. School year lessons run from September through May. Summer lessons are available with registration beginning in May. Private lessons are 30-minutes (unless otherwise discussed) and are held at the Mahtomedi District Education Center. Email communityed@isd832.net to look into available times. Guitar - Michael Schumacher: grade 2 and above. Piano - Jeffrey Merrill and Todd Burrell: grade 1 and above. 2023-24 TUITION: When you pay the registration fee, we will use that credit card to automatically charge tuition the 15th of each month (September-May).   • Summer - Middle School Beginners Band (entering grade 6)

    Welcome to Summer Band! Beginners Band - All 5th graders who registered for 6th grade Band at Mahtomedi Middle School (2024-25) are strongly encouraged to take part in this summer opportunity. This camp is for any students who are starting an instrument for the first time. Students will be learning the beginning basics of their instrument and will be working with a professional musician and teacher on their instrument in instrument-specific sessions. Please notice the time your student’s instrument session is offered and select that camp time at registration. 8:00-9:25 AM: Beginners Band: (Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Trumpet, French Horn) 7th Grade Concert Band 9:35-11:00 AM: Beginners Band: (Saxophone, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, Percussion) 8th Grade Concert Band Register your student for the GRADE ENTERING. CAMP DATES: Monday-Friday, June 11 - July 2 (no camp on June 19) Join us for a concert on the morning of July 2nd! Lead instructor: Ashley Olson, Mahtomedi Middle School Band Teacher

    Welcome to Summer Band! Concert Bands - This band camp is designed for students going into 7th or 8th grade Band at Mahtomedi Middle School, and is open to all instruments. Students will continue progressing on their instrument through reading additional band, pep band, and ensemble-arranged music. They will benefit from both an ensemble experience and a sectional experience during their band time.
