In his first 100 days Pres. Roosevelt spearheaded unprecedented federal legislation during the Great Depression, implementing the New Deal, realigning American politics and creating numerous programs to provide relief to the unemployed and farmers. 

He also instituted major regulatory reforms related to finance, communications, and labor, and presided over the end of Prohibition. Oh, yes, he also led the nation through WWII all while confined to a wheelchair. Join us to find out how he did it!

Kathleen Simmer


Kathy Simmer taught in the St. Paul Public School District and was always very interested in historical research. Kathy presents about American history topics for various organizations. She likes to include the details that are often left out of the history books. All of her portion of the class fee is donated to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research.
