Dr. Mark Seeley: Climate Change Impacts on Our National Parks

Adults / Lifelong Learning -
2024 Fall

Many research studies and emerging scientific evidence clearly show widespread impacts of climate change already occurring in some of our most coveted National Parks. These include Denali (Alaska), Glacier (Montana), Everglades (Florida), and Grand Canyon (Arizona). This presentation will include the measured climate change in these areas and show the consequential impacts.

Dr. Mark Seeley retired in 2018 after nearly 40 years as Extension Climatologist and Meteorologist at the University of MN. He provides weekly weather commentary on MN Public Radio’s Morning Edition, produces documentaries for Twin Cities Public Television (TPT) and is the author of Minnesota Weather Almanac. He continues to provide presentations on climate change and its effects on the state’s infrastructure and natural resources.
