  • GRASP - Math and Reading Workbooks (completing grades K-5)

    Stop the Summer Slide! A 9-week at-home study and correspondence program for grades K-5, which helps students review and maintain reading and math skills while on summer vacation. GRASP is perfect for those who enjoy studying and learning with a workbook. Each student receives their own summer learning packet, which includes workbooks, answer sheets, instructions and pre-addressed envelopes for mail-in grading. Each family will mail in their worksheets weekly for professional grading and assessment. Choose one or both subjects. Students do a little more than one lesson per week. REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Friday, April 26 No refunds after registration deadline. First lesson can begin June 14 and last lesson is due August 9. $44 per packet Be sure to provide your email address as all results will be emailed unless you opt out. Packets will be picked up by registrants in the Community Education Office late May/early June. Families will be emailed specific pick-up dates and times. Families will also be asked to stop in and pick-up program completion materials in August.   • Minnesota Institute for Talented Youth (MITY) Your Extraordinary Summer

    MITY provides advanced students with the opportunity to pursue their passions in a stimulating and inclusive environment. Choose from unique STEM, humanities and fine arts courses that are hands-on, inquiry-based and beyond the scope of a traditional curriculum. Recreational activities facilitate lifelong friendships with students from around the Twin Cities and beyond. Elementary and middle school students can attend full day, half day, or extended day.     What’s Kraken? If you have a love of or interest in lively tales of ancient heroes, warriors, tricksters, and gods and goddesses from all over the world, then this may be the opportunity for you! In this mythology class, we will dive into daring stories, complex characters, and the enriching cultures that these timeless tales come from. This mythology class can be for beginners or experts. All are welcome! A variety of media will be used ranging from literature to audio, as well as visual media.
